Family Mode

Family Mode — shopping, budgets, profile and goals

Family Mode brings a household profile, shared goals, groceries, budgets and a family kanban board into one space so spouses, parents and roommates stay aligned without another chat thread.

Built for: Couples, parents, roommates and households

Home logistics in one mode

Family Mode elevates shopping, budgeting and household identity so the tools you need for home life are front and center — not buried under business project tabs.

Profile, goals and boards together

Add parents, kids and roommates to a family profile, track shared goals, then use the kanban board for chores and weekend projects.

  • •Family profile with roles and notes
  • •Goals across Home, Money, Health, Faith and Fun
  • •Shopping and budget one tap away

A shopping list that keeps up at the store

Add quantities, mark staples you buy every week and re-add them in a tap. Items checked off in the aisle disappear for everyone at once, so whoever is at the store always has the current list.

A budget you can review together

Log income and expenses by category, set a monthly limit for each, and see where the month stands at a glance. Export the year to CSV when it's time for taxes or a conversation with an advisor.

Goals that give the household a direction

Set shared goals across Home, Money, Health, Faith, Fun and School, give each one an owner and a target date, and track progress as you go. Use the family board for bigger efforts like a move, a renovation or a holiday.

FAQ

Can my spouse share Family Mode?

Yes. Invite family members into the workspace. Everyone sees the same shopping lists, budgets, tasks, goals and boards in real time.

Is Family Mode separate from Business Mode?

Yes. Switch modes in the sidebar (or press ⌥1–⌥4). Family tools stay calm while Business Mode keeps team projects separate.

Does Family Mode include a shared calendar?

The calendar shows task and chore due dates across the month. It isn't a full event calendar with per-person colours — if that's your main need, a calendar-first app may suit you better.

Can we export our household budget?

Yes. Settings → Your data downloads every transaction as a CSV, with expenses as negative amounts so a spreadsheet SUM gives you the net.

How is Family Mode different from Cozi?

Cozi centres on a shared family event calendar. Family Mode focuses on household logistics — shared tasks, shopping, a budget and family goals — and sits beside Personal, Business and Ministry modes in one account.
